The Orquestra Portuguesa de Guitarras e Bandolins (OPGB) located in Gondomar, close to Oporto, has performed more than a hundred concerts in the last decade, playing intensively all over Portugal and touring often in Spain, France, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. Every year it offers a Season with different programs and repertoire, inviting distinguished national and international soloists and conductors as well. Its activity also includes new commissions purposedly for plucked strings orchestra, to young and well-known composers. The OPGB Soloists sextet are regularly invited to play in chamber music concerts and festivals in Portugal, such as the International Guitar Festival from Lagoa (2020). This amazing sextet is composed by António de Sousa Vieira (Mandolin 1), Jorge Carvalho (Mandolin 2), David Rodrigues (Mandola), César Pinto (Guitar 1), Tiago Cassola (Guitar 2) and João Francisco dos Santos (Double Bass).

The CIRCUM-NAVIGATION - MUSIC AROUND THE WORLD concert is an imaginary soundtrack to the first voyage around the globe by Ferdinand Magellan, although located in modern times and played in modern instruments. This tribute to the great portuguese navigator tries to capture the sounds and well-known music and composers from several cultures and countries as well as guitar and mandolin do nowadays, easily going from classic to folk music, and from East to the West in a glimpse.
