Bio

Iberian-american guitarist, teacher and composer. Graduate by the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. Master degree by the Superior School of Music and Dance of Rotterdam. PhD in Music by Aveiro University – Portugal. He took part in the Taller de Música Contemporánea de Montevideo (Contemporary Music Workshop of Montevideo, directed by R. Marino Rivero). Was laureate in the Hispano-Portuguese Composition Competition for Classical Guitar “Ciudad de Badajoz”- 2006. Some of his books are La Digitación Guitarrística (Classical Guitar Fingering – Madrid, 1995) and Adiestramento técnico para guitarristas (Technical Training for Guitarists – Madrid, 2000), and O Sistema Posicional na Guitarra (The Positional System in the classical guitar - Saarbrücken, 2015). His papers was edited in specialized reviews like Roseta, Sexto Orden, Il Fronimo, or Soundboard, among other. He keeps an international activity not only as a soloist playing classical, but also in chamber music. Presently, he is classical guitar teacher at the Music Department from Minho University, Braga – Portugal. Is also Artistic Manager of the International Guitar Festival of Maldonado – Uruguay, and he belongs to the NIM - GIARTES of CEHUM research group.

Por finais do século XVIII, depois da revolução francesa, foram abertas em Paris algumas escolas internas laicas para meninas e raparigas. Entre elas, em Saint-Germain, encontrava-se a pensão de Madame Campan, que chegou a ser muito famosa; mas houve uma outra que más tarde rivalizou com esta: a casa de Madame Migneron-Remy. Mencionamos estas duas escolas porque na primeira, provavelmente, deu aulas de guitarra e harpa Guillaume Gatayes, e porque na segunda, tal como tem revelado a nossa investigação, foi docente o famoso guitarrista Fernando Sor.
